Aged Care Mental Health

Compassionate aged care mental health support for older adults to navigate life’s changes, strengthen emotional wellbeing, and stay connected through every stage of ageing.

At Beam, our experienced Psychology & Mental Health team provides compassionate, evidence-based support for older adults across Newcastle, the Central Coast and Lower Hunter. We work alongside older adults, families, aged care providers and residential care services to deliver personalised support that promotes emotional wellbeing, resilience and quality of life.

How We Can Help

Growing older can bring meaningful experiences, new opportunities, and personal growth, while also involving periods of change, adjustment, loss, health concerns, or shifts in support needs. Every person's experience is unique, and there may be times when additional emotional or psychological support is helpful.

Our Psychology & Mental Health team provides personalised, evidence-based support for older adults seeking assistance with mental health concerns, life transitions, emotional wellbeing, or navigating the changes that can accompany later life.

We offer individual counselling and group therapy programs tailored to the needs, goals, and preferences of older adults. Our services support people to develop coping strategies, strengthen emotional wellbeing, build resilience, and maintain meaningful relationships and community connections.

Our goal is to support older adults to continue living in ways that are meaningful to them, promoting confidence, independence, wellbeing, and quality of life through personalised psychological care.

Our clinicians understand that later life can involve a diverse range of experiences and circumstances. We provide respectful, person-centred support that is tailored to each individual’s goals, values, preferences, and strengths.

For eligible clients, services may be accessed through a My Aged Care package, with sessions invoiced directly to your aged care provider to support continuity of care and reduce administrative burden.

We also partner with community aged care providers and residential aged care facilities, helping to deliver psychological support in familiar and comfortable environments wherever possible.
