Madelein is an experienced mental health clinician and clinical supervisor with qualifications in Nutrition, Counselling and Psychotherapy, and Social Work. She has extensive experience supporting adolescents and adults with complex trauma, eating disorders, personality disorders, anxiety, depression, and suicide risk. Madelein is also experienced in working with older adults and has experience supporting them through aged care funding. Madelein has a specialised interest in working with Cluster B personality traits, particularly Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). She has a strong understanding of the complexities associated with these presentations and draws on evidence-based approaches, particularly Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), to support clients.

Her clinical background includes out-of-home care, Headspace, high-risk suicide prevention programs, and PHN-funded services, where she has coordinated DBT groups, provided DBT supervision, and led clinical teams.

As a Clinical Supervisor, Madelein supports counsellors and social workers through reflective supervision, case consultation, mentoring, and professional development, with a strong focus on ethical practice, professional boundaries, and high-quality client care.

She is a registered member of PACFA and AASW and uses evidence-based approaches including CBT, CBT-E, DBT, ACT, and EMDR.

A quote I love…

“The path out of hell is through misery. By refusing to accept the misery that it takes to climb out of hell, you end up falling back into hell repeatedly, only to have to start over and over again.”— Marsha M. Linehan
