This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose personal information, and how you can access or correct your information or make a complaint.

This policy has been prepared in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and, where relevant, the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (NSW) and other applicable health records legislation.

The information we collect

How we collect information

We generally collect personal and health information directly from you, a parent or guardian, or an authorised representative. In some circumstances, we may collect information from a referring GP, other health professional, school, NDIS planner, or support coordinator, where this is necessary to provide our services and you have consented or the disclosure is otherwise permitted by law.

Why we collect and use your information

We collect and use personal and health information to:

  • Assess your needs and provide psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy, behaviour support, and related allied health services

We may disclose your personal and health information to:

  • Other treating practitioners involved in your care, with your consent

  • Anyone else you authorise us to share your information with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not disclose it overseas except where necessary for a service you have consented to (for example, cloud-based practice management or telehealth software), in which case we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate protections are in place.

Storage and security

We store personal and health information in secure practice management and clinical record systems, with access restricted to authorised staff involved in your care or the administration of our services. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure.

We retain health records for the period required by applicable law, which may be longer than the general retention period for other personal information.

Access and correction

You have the right to request access to the personal and health information we hold about you, and to request that we correct any information that is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete. In the case of a minor, a parent or guardian may exercise these rights on the child’s behalf, subject to the young person’s own capacity to consent.

Requests for access or correction can be made in writing to the contact details below. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe, generally within 30 days. In some circumstances, we may need to withhold access, for example where release could pose a serious risk to your health or safety, and we will explain our reasons if this occurs.

Website and cookies

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to improve functionality and understand how visitors use our site. You can adjust your browser settings to refuse cookies, though this may affect how parts of the website function. Our website may also contain links to third-party sites, which are governed by their own privacy policies.
