Aishling graduated from Central Queensland University (Bundaberg) in December 2025 with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours). She has a strong passion for working with children and supporting families to help each child reach their full potential.
As part of her studies, Aishling completed paediatric-focused clinical placements, including a paediatric and hand therapy placement in Rockhampton and a paediatric placement in her home country of Ireland. Completing placements across two different countries provided her with invaluable experiences and a broad understanding of paediatric occupational therapy across diverse settings.
With over 10 years of experience working in the early childhood industry, Aishling brings a strong foundation in child development and a deep understanding of children’s everyday environments. Her interest in occupational therapy was sparked through observing occupational therapists working within childcare centres and witnessing the meaningful improvements children achieved in their daily skills and confidence. This inspired her to pursue a career in occupational therapy and continues to guide her practice, sparking a particular interest in the school age group. Aishling’s therapy philosophy is family-centred, child focused and strengths-based. She believes families play a vital role in a child’s development and values working collaboratively with parents and caregivers to support each child’s goals. Aishling uses play-based, meaningful activities to create engaging therapy sessions tailored to the individual needs of each child and family. She also values collaboration with teachers/educators and other professionals to support children across their home, school, and community environments.
Outside of work, Aishling enjoys spending time with family/friends, cooking and baking, exploring the outdoors through hiking and travelling abroad.
