Lucy graduated from the University of Newcastle in April of 2023 with a bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours Class I) and is now registered with the Australian Health Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Lucy was previously working within a generalist NDIS OT role within a multidisciplinary team space. During this role, Lucy had experienced working with a diverse caseload, which included assisting people diagnosed with a variety of mental health diagnoses, such as schizophrenia, depression, bipolar and anxiety, as well as conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Intellectual Disability. Lucy gained invaluable experience across a range of areas, such as home modifications, emotional regulation, sensory modulation, handwriting skills and school based tasks. Lucy also gained experience navigating housing options and collaborating with supports within these housing contexts, including Supported Independent Living (SIL) accommodation.

Lucy has been lucky enough to experience a range of placement opportunities during her studies, spanning across acute hospital, stroke and neurological rehabilitation, school clinic, home modifications within the geriatric context as well as generalist MDT NDIS. Lucy has a strong interest working with paediatrics and young adults to assist them with engaging in activities that are meaningful in a fun, individualised and functional way.

Outside of work, Lucy enjoys training and competing in equestrian events and sporting activities. Lucy also loves going to the beach, participating in outdoorsy and active adventures and painting. Lucy is super excited to start working at Beam in Warners Bay and cant wait to meet you and provide support with your family’s Occupational Therapy needs!
