Madelein is a passionate and experienced Counsellor with a unique background. Madelein has a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and a master’s degree in counselling from the University of Queensland.
Madelein has an array of experience in working with adolescents, adults, and families across a range of areas including mental health, Complex trauma, eating disorders, personality disorders, depression, and anxiety. Madelein gained a range of experience through working at Headspace and in suicide prevention programs on the Central Coast. Madelein is registered with Australia Counselling Association (ACA) and Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation Australia (PACFA).
Madelein works from a client centred approach operating in sessions with empathy, compassion, genuineness, and empowering clients to become their authentic selves. Madelein is trained in a range of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Cognitive behaviour Therapy – eating disorders (CBT-E), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT).
Outside of work, Madelein loves to spend time eating pastries (Mostly croissants), drinking coffee at local cafes, playing team sports and spending time with friends and family.
