Our Occupational Therapy team is exploring a range of fun, supportive group workshops for the July school holidays. These small-group programs are designed to help children build skills, confidence and connection in engaging, therapist-led environments.

Parent Preschool Prep
For children starting school in 2027 and their parents/carers
Starting school is a big milestone. This interactive workshop gives children and their parent or carer the opportunity to learn, play and practice key skills together in preparation for big school.
Through fun, hands-on activities, children will explore foundational school readiness skills including:
- Pencil control and early writing skills
- Scissor skills and fine motor development
- Daily living and independence skills
- Learning through play and participation
Parents and children will participate side by side, with practical strategies and activities to support school readiness at home.
Program guide: Approximately 3 sessions across 2 weeks, with sessions running for 1–2 hours.
Sensory Explorers
Ideal for children aged 4–6 years
Sensory exploration plays an important role in early childhood development, supporting children’s ability to learn, regulate, move, play and participate in everyday activities.
In small groups of approximately 4–5 children, participants will explore a variety of sensory experiences in a safe, playful and supportive setting. Sessions may support children to:
- Explore and engage with different sensory activities
- Build opportunities for sensory processing and develop regulation skills
- Develop motor, play and participation skills
- Increase understanding and confidence around sensory experiences
Program guide: Approximately 3–4 sessions across 2 weeks, with 1-hour sessions during the school holidays.
Confident Connections
Ideal for children aged 7–10 years
A safe, supportive group for children to connect with like-minded neurodivergent peers through shared activities, play and guided interaction.
Facilitated by an Occupational Therapist, this group provides opportunities for children to build confidence and reflect on skills such as:
- Turn-taking and cooperation
- Problem solving and teamwork
- Connection through shared interests and experiences
- Social interaction in a supportive environment
Designed to celebrate individual strengths while creating opportunities for meaningful connection and fun.
Program guide: 2 x 1-hour sessions during the school holidays, with the potential for the group to continue beyond the holiday period.
