Fees, Funding & Rebates
We believe in being clear and transparent about fees, while recognising that every person’s circumstances are different.
Our team will always talk you through costs, funding options, and what to expect, so you can make an informed decision before starting.
The costs of sessions can vary depending on the service you’re accessing, the experience and registration level of your clinician, session length and format, and how sessions are funded (e.g. privately, through Medicare, or via the NDIS).
Fees
Psychology
Private psychology session fees range from $170–$290 per hour, depending on the experience and registration level of your clinician. Fees for sessions with a Provisional Psychologist are lower and discussed at the time of enquiry.
If you have a referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates when seeing an eligible clinician. Rebates may also be available through private health insurance, depending on your level of cover.
Speech Pathology
Speech Pathology sessions are charged at $200 per hour for privately funded clients.
You may be eligible for Medicare-rebated speech pathology assessment and therapy sessions if you:
- Are under 25 years of age
- Have a referral from a GP, consultant physician or specialist
- Are suspected of, or diagnosed with, an eligible condition under the eligible Medicare M10 conditions
Rebates may also be available through private health insurance, depending on your level of cover.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy sessions are charged at $200 per hour for privately funded clients.
In some cases, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates for Occupational Therapy sessions with a valid referral from your GP under a Chronic Condition Management Plan (CCMP).
Counselling
Counselling sessions are charged at $195 per hour for privately funded clients.
Social Worker
Sessions with our Social Workers are charged at $205 per hour for privately funded clients. Medicare rebates only apply when seeing an eligible clinician.
Assessments
A range of assessments are available across Psychology, Speech, Occupational Therapy and Behaviour Support.
Fees vary depending on your assessment needs. Medicare rebates and NDIS funding may be available.

NDIS Pricing
Beam Health is a registered NDIS provider and works with self-managed, plan-managed, and NDIA-managed participants. Our NDIS fees are aligned with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits.
Before starting, our team will discuss costs, funding options, and what to expect, so you can make an informed decision with confidence.
Payments & Deposits
For privately funded and Medicare-funded sessions, a 50% deposit is required when booking your first appointment. The remaining balance is payable on the day of your first session.
Funding & Rebates Explained
Understanding funding options can be confusing, especially if you’re new to therapy or navigating systems like Medicare or the NDIS. Below is a simple overview of common funding pathways.
Private payment
Paying privately offers flexibility and does not require a referral. Fees will always be discussed with you before booking.
Your private health fund may offer rebates for some services. It is important to check with your provider before starting, as cover may vary.
Please note:
- You cannot claim both a Medicare rebate and a private health insurance rebate for the same service.
- NDIS-funded services are not eligible for private health insurance rebates.
- Aged Care-funded services are not eligible for private health insurance rebates.
Medicare rebates
You may be eligible for Medicare rebates for psychology, speech pathology, and occupational therapy services with a valid plan from your GP.
- Psychology services require a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP)
- Speech pathology and occupational therapy may be covered under a Chronic Condition Management Plan (CCMP) or other Medicare programs.
- Other funding or rebate options may be available for some clients, depending on individual circumstances.
Your GP or primary care provider can help determine which plan is appropriate.
Medicare rebates help reduce out-of-pocket costs but do not cover the full session fee.
NDIS funding
We provide services to both self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. Services are delivered in line with your approved plan goals and current NDIS pricing arrangements.
